Heartworm Testing:
  • Blood sample for heartworm test is sent to Idexx laboratories (results available within 1-2 business days)
  • Recommended yearly as advised by the American Heartworm Society
  • Test required for prescription heartworm prevention medication
  • Recheck test recommended in 6 months if there has been a lapse in prevention greater than thirty days due to the life cycle of the disease
