Colleen M. Brown DVM

Dr. Brown dreamed of becoming a veterinarian during her youth while growing up in Cleveland, Ohio. She has resided in the Valley of the Sun since completing her undergraduate work at Arizona State University where she was a member of the Barretts Honors College. After receiving concurrent bachelor degrees from ASU in Biology and Italian she received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences in Pomona, CA. At Western Dr. Brown was fortunate to participate in a new paradigm of veterinary education called problem based learning. Her special interests include dermatology, internal medicine and Rottweilers! Dr. Brown is a strong proponent of dental care for dogs, cats and horses.

Professional organizations to which Dr. Brown is a member include the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AZVMA), the Amercian Animal Hospital Association (AAHA), the Veterinary Information Network (VIN), the American Association of House Call and Mobile Veterinarians (AAHV) and a 2009 member of the Arizona Academy of Veterinary Practice.

When Dr. Brown is not seeing patients she also works as an Adjunct Professor of Biology for Rio Salado College and Central Arizona College. Future goals of Dr. Brown include application for Diplomate status to the American Board of Veterinary Practitioners (ABVP-canine and feline medicine). She also aspires to create a nonprofit organization that will promote the human animal bond between mentally challenged individuals and their pets.
